Jimmy Mouton – Trade Show, Conference, Meetings and Events Management
Jimmy Mouton is an independent trade show producer, conference manager and exhibits manager. His specialties are providing event management services to Associations and managing exhibits / pavilions for organizations exhibiting in international events.
A veteran of the Trade Show, Conference and Convention industry, his understanding of the inter-operational aspects and intricacies of trade shows, industry best practices, operational and marketing demands, and international norms establishes him as a subject matter expert and leader show organizers and exhibitors need on their team!
Jimmy was most recently the President / CEO of Perfect World, Inc; an Atlanta-based company created specifically to produce the Emergency Management Leaders Conference (EMLC); an annual conference produced with both the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) and the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA). Through PWi, Jimmy also took over management of the American Institute of Architects – Arkansas Chapter Annual Convention; an event he continues to manage today.
Prior to launching PWi, Jimmy was the CEO of NuernbergMesse North America, Inc. (NMNA), the U.S. subsidiary for NuernbergMesse, GmbH. Originally the managing director, he was promoted to CEO within his first 6 months where he would lead NMNA to produce the most successful business period in company history, setting records in revenues earned, profitability and sales production. As a trade show management company serving U.S. associations, NMNA produced the most successful American Coatings SHOW in history, setting records in exhibitors, NSF per exhibitor, attendees and financials. NMNA also increased U.S. outbound sales and pavilion production to record heights, all while creating and implementing a corporate restructuring program designed to achieve maximum operational efficiency.
In 2008, Jimmy launched the Atlanta-based trade show production and management company Imago Productions, Inc., and with it, the International Disaster Conference & Expo (IDCE). He would later lead efforts to merge IDCE with the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and, in an unprecedented move, would manage and execute the sale of IDCE to the facility: the first-ever sale of a major event to a United States tier-1 convention center complex. This led to the creation of the MCCNO Trade Shows and Conferences department; the first convention center department of its kind to focus on in-house management and ownership of trade show events that served the interests of the city of New Orleans, State of Louisiana, and numerous industries that call the region home. Serving as the department director, Jimmy was responsible for discovering, launching, and producing new event opportunities, as well as have his department serve as an incubator to assist independent show organizers presenting events considered to have promise but lacking the necessary resources to successfully launch.
Jimmy began his tradeshow management career in 2000 with CMP Media managing, launching, and re-designing numerous shows within the electronics portfolio of CMP. His management portfolio included the leading industry events PCB Design Conferences (East and West), IP-SoC and HDI. He moved to Messe Frankfurt, USA in 2006 where he managed ISH North America, the U.S. version of the leading European show focused on Heating, Cooling, Refrigeration and Plumbing.
A twenty-two year trade show industry veteran, Jimmy has delivered exceptional results in numerous roles covering all aspects of the industry, including launching multiple trade show production companies; serving as the executive director of major international events serving government and private sectors; holding senior executive positions with trade show management companies; and leading sales teams through strategic transitions and market realignments. His list of past achievements represents milestones with organizations considered leaders in the trade show, event production and hospitality industry including the Georgia World Congress Center and Georgia Dome, Shepard Exposition Services, SSI Production Services, Stormont-Trice hotels, BNP/CMP Media, UP Media Group, Messe Frankfurt USA, NuernbergMesse North America, the San Antonio Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, and the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
FUN FACTS: Jimmy was a touring musician for over 16 years and is an avid sports fan. He loves LSU football, the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Braves baseball, and just about any sport he can find time to watch. Jimmy has been coaching youth baseball for many years, currently running the 10-U youth travel baseball program out of Sharon Springs, GA (www.spartanstravelbaseball.com). Jimmy is married to his wife Jodi. They have 4 children (Brent, Allyse, Arielle and Dominick) and have a dog that is half American Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bull) and half Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Healer) named Bennett (Yes – as in Tony Bennett).
